Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Slopz ("Slopz", "we", "us") operates slopz.io and the games served from it. Slopz is run by an individual developer based in Serbia. For any privacy question, request, or complaint, contact privacy@slopz.io.

2. Information we collect

Account information

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and a Google account identifier from Google, based on the permissions you approve at sign-in. If you play as a guest, we only store the nickname you type — no personal information is required to play as a guest.

Gameplay & multiplayer data

To run multiplayer rooms we process room state (who's in a room, scores, settings) and any chat messages you send inside a room, for as long as that room exists.

Automatically collected data

Like any web service, our servers and hosting providers log basic technical data for operating and securing the site — IP address, browser/device type, and request timestamps. We don't store this ourselves or use it for anything beyond that; it lives only in infrastructure request logs.

Games we operate directly (see Section 1) also each have an in-game "Data & Privacy" panel — a settings-menu button in slopy-dodge, a small (i) button next to the sound toggle in manippulator and colorwheel, and a small (i) button on the start screen in bwain-bot — that shows exactly what we can currently see for that browser session: the game name, your chosen player name (if you've played a scored run), an anonymous ID tied to this browser (not a hardware device ID — it resets if you clear your browser data), your browser's language setting, your browser/OS string, and your current ads/analytics consent choice. It also states plainly what we don't collect — no mobile advertising ID (there's no native app here), and no country/location value is shown back to us even when Google Analytics estimates one from your IP after you accept analytics cookies. Opening that panel never itself creates or changes any of this data — it only reads what (if anything) already exists.

Bot & abuse prevention (reCAPTCHA)

Starting a scored run in games we operate directly is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which helps us tell a real player from an automated script before a score can be submitted. reCAPTCHA sends Google your interaction signals, IP address, and browser/device information to compute that check — this processing is covered by Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, in addition to this policy. We only ever receive a pass/fail-style result back from Google, not the raw signals it used to compute it.

Cookies & local storage

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, and browser local storage to resume your session, remember your current room, and (in some games) store things like your best score entirely on your own device. See Section 5 for the categories these fall into and how to control them.

3. How we use it

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use chat content for advertising.

4. Legal basis for processing

For visitors in the EU/UK, we rely on:

5. Cookies, local storage & consent choices

When you first visit, a banner lets you accept all or reject non-essential cookies/tracking. Strictly necessary items (the sign-in session cookie, local storage needed to resume your room) are used either way, since the site can't function without them. Anything related to ad personalization or measurement stays off until you actively accept.

You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the site footer. We use Google Consent Mode so your choice also controls whether Google's ad/measurement tags are allowed to store or read cookies on this site.

Google reCAPTCHA (Section 2) sets its own cookies for security/fraud-prevention purposes. These are strictly necessary for that check to work at all, so — the same way Google classifies them for reCAPTCHA generally — they aren't gated by the ad/analytics consent choice above.

6. Advertising

Some games we operate show interstitial ads served through Google Ad Manager, to keep those games free. If you accept ad personalization, ads may be tailored using information Google holds about you; if you reject it, you'll still see ads, but non-personalized ones. Either way, the ad itself is chosen and served by Google, not by us — see Google's Privacy Policy for how Google's ad systems handle data. We don't control the content of individual ads.

7. Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers needed to run the site:

We do not sell personal information to anyone, and we don't share chat content outside the room it was sent in.

8. International data transfers

Because we use Google's infrastructure, some data may be processed outside your own country, including in the United States. Where that applies, Google's own transfer safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) apply to that processing.

9. How long we keep data

Account data is kept while your account is active. Room and chat data lives for the lifetime of that room and is not retained afterward beyond what's needed for abuse investigation. Local storage entries (best scores, session resume data) stay only on your own device until you clear your browser data.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

For a real-time look at exactly what we can see for your current browser session, open the Data & Privacy panel inside any game we operate directly (see the "Automatically collected data" section above) — no request needed. For anything beyond that, or to exercise any of the rights above, email privacy@slopz.io. We'll respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify it's really you before acting on a request.

11. Children's privacy

Our services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will update the "Last updated" date above; continued use of the site after a change means you accept the update.
